Let’s find the right ways to work together
The three main components of our work are strategy, product design, and product branding. We can work with your organization at any stage of its project to help supplement any internal resources you may have.
We also provide advising services for clients who want to develop their educational products, but want expert perspectives and guidance on their ideas, processes, and execution.
The first step for all engagements is a free 15-minute consultation.
Strategy
Creating the foundation for your educational product
Before you create an educational product, it’s essential to determine a few things first. In our strategy work, we help you get clear on organizational and product goals, dive into your users’ wants and needs, and reflect on what’s current in the field of digital education. Then we present options for the direction of your educational product, — based on a strong foundation of research and current design thought. Pricing is custom per project.
Educational trend analysis: What’s happening now in digital education?
Competitor landscape analysis: What are your competitors offering?
Vision alignment: How can we align with your org’s mission and strategic plans?
User research and analysis: What topics and investments will appeal to your learners?
Learning product mapping: Based on above, what are some solid product options?
Learning Product Design
A human-centered approach to product design and prototyping
Once we have a handful of product options, the next step is to create low-cost prototypes of each option and gather as much user feedback as possible to determine the most effective product approach. This includes finding the right mix of digital and live events for your specific learners. In this phase, we iterate and refine the product design based on user research, until we arrive at a solid product recommendation. Pricing is custom per project.
Learning design map: We develop a detailed curriculum and learning grounded in research and our deep understanding of how adults learn.
Process and production guidelines: We teach you how to create a digital learning tool or course that is easy to navigate and launch.
Technology implementation plan: We guide you in choosing a learning platform for your product, designing tech support for your students, and ensuring security for your student data.
Branding
Visual design elements to apply to your educational product
Of course, you want your educational offering to be visually stunning as well as functional. Solid branding design can help connect audiences with your institution’s mission, as well as the goals of the learning product, in a way that feels cohesive, engaging, and consistent. Branding can make the difference between a successful educational product and a failing one; users today are discerning and very quickly link good design systems to a well-considered educational journey. Pricing is custom per project.
Brand strategy: How your goals, audience needs, and your offer tie into your brand.
Brand identity design: Developing a logo and other visual elements for your product.
Brand development: A cohesive system that addresses how your brand looks when it appears on multiple touchpoints (e.g. a banner vs. a webpage).
Brand guidelines: Clear usage rules for your design that allow for consistent use internally and with external vendors.
